As our first school year closes and summer begins, we want to take a look back at the work we’ve done to build deeper connections between our industry and low-income schools. Supporting schools is vital to our community and an important connection between our industry and our future innovators.
We connected schools with STEM programming from Pacific Science Center, deployed $50,000 to support individual student needs, volunteered regularly, and sourced school supplies. Our membership continues to expand their support of local education through the Right Now Needs Fund, hosting regular workplace visits, and opening onsite events to students. Working alongside community partners like Communities in Schools, we will continue to connect local public schools to our industry.
As the August 6th primary election is approaching, are you feeling overwhelmed by the 55+ candidates vying for seats on the City Council? We all have a stake in ensuring our voice is a part of this election and we are here to make it easy for you to get informed and participate. We won’t tell you who to vote for but will offer tools, resources, and events that will make it easier for you to decide how to vote.
